Standard Clean vs. Deep Clean: What Is the Difference?

Not sure whether to book a standard clean or a deep clean? Here is what each one actually covers, and when a deep clean is worth it.

The question we hear most often

When someone books a cleaning for the first time, the most common question is simple: should this be a standard clean or a deep clean? The two sound similar, but they cover meaningfully different ground.

What a standard clean covers

A standard clean follows the regular checklist built for your home: kitchens, bathrooms, floors, and living spaces. It is the visit most clients book on a recurring basis, whether that is weekly, biweekly, or monthly, and it is what keeps a home consistently tidy between deeper sessions.

What a deep clean adds

A deep clean starts with everything in a standard clean, then adds the detail work that does not need attention every single visit: baseboards, the inside of major appliances, window tracks, and other hard-to-reach areas that build up over time. It takes longer and covers more ground, which is exactly the point.

When a deep clean makes sense

A deep clean is the right call around a move-in or move-out, before or after hosting a big event, or as a seasonal reset once or twice a year even for a home that gets regular standard cleans. If it has been a while since anyone paid attention to the baseboards or the inside of the oven, that is usually the clearest sign it is time.

You do not have to choose blind

If you are not sure which one fits your situation, tell us a bit about your home and your goals on the contact form, and we will recommend the right starting point rather than leaving you to guess. From there, most clients settle into a standard clean on a recurring schedule, with a deep clean booked in occasionally as needed.

One consistent checklist, either way

Whichever you book, the same checklist is followed every time by a bonded, insured team, so the results do not vary from one visit to the next. That consistency, more than anything, is what most clients tell us they value most.
